Things to do at Florida Film Festival

- By Trevor Fraser Orlando Sentinel Entertainment Reporter

The awards have been given out and the panels have all granted their wisdom. This is the last day to grab brunch ($13.99) at the Enzian, relax and see the Florida Film Festival the way you want. Sunshine & Swampland: New Florida

Shorts (2:30 p.m., Regal Winter Park Village, 89 minutes, $12) — This is the

Florida Film Festival, after all. Don’t leave without seeing something from Sunshine State filmmakers. Or 10 things. This collection of shorts is gathered from the Enzian’s Brouhaha Film & Video Showcase, the monthly film slams and other sources of Florida cinema. Keep your eyes open for traditional Florida fare, such as swimming pools, Disney references and uncomfortable grass. Granny Poetry Club (5:45 p.m., Regal Winter Park Village, 97 minutes, $12) — In 1937, Japan controlled the peninsula of

Korea and forbade learning Korean in schools. Flash forward to today, when an elementary school opens in South Korea and a group of elderly women decide it’s time they finally learn the language of their homeland. If your heart isn’t already warmed enough, there is a dog in this documentary.

Monty Python’s Life of Brian (8:30 p.m., Enzian, 94 minutes, $12) — Is there a more appropriate Easter movie? Probably, but you won’t laugh as hard during it. The British comedy troupe’s irreverent take on the messiah (or, rather, not the messiah) is the capstone to this year’s Florida Film Festival, closing out with a rousing chorus reminding us to always look on the bright side of life.
