Polasek Museum Plans to Reopen: The Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens in Winter Park plans to reopen its lakeside sculpture gardens June 2 and its exhibition gallery June 9, with limited hours. Albin Polasek's historic home and the Capen House will remain closed until further notice. To ensure safety of visitors and staff, masks are required to visit the museum interior and visitors will be required to keep a 6-foot distance between parties at all times inside and outside. UF/IFAS Extension Orange County “Safely Resuming Operations”: Beginning

June 1 the Orange County Extension Education Center, 6021 S. Conway Road, Orlando, will safely resume operations on a limited basis from 8 a.m.-noon MondayFrid­ay. Appointmen­ts are required by calling 407-2549200. Upon entry, your temperatur­e will be taken and you will complete a COVID-19 questionna­ire. No more than 10 people meeting in a group; face coverings/masks are highly encouraged. Social distancing will be observed at all times.

Tools To Quit Smoking class: In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Tobacco Free Florida is offering virtual tobacco cessation classes across Central Florida which includes coaching and nicotine replacemen­t therapy like patches and lozenges to participan­ts at no cost. Bromeliad and tropical plant show and sale: The Seminole Bromeliad and Tropical Plant Society event will include thousands of bromeliads for sale along with orchids, aroids, succulents, ferns, gingers, fruiting plants and plant accessorie­s. Orange County 4-H Virtual Summer Experience: 4-H Virtual Healthy Kids Camp (June 22-25) and 4-H Virtual S.T.E.M. Camp (July 13-16). The Orange County Library System has reopened Questline, the library's call center, for calls and chat. Questline operators will be available for customers from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday at 407-8357323. When the libraries open to the public, the call center will be open during library open hours. Home delivery service has resumed. Customers who have designated a location for picking up their holds will have their requested items delivered via USPS. Book drops have reopened. All library materials that were checked out before the library closed on March 18 are due on June 1. Materials may be returned to any library location.

Pioneer Village and History Museum Reopen: Pioneer Village at Shingle Creek and the Osceola County Welcome Center & History Museum have reopened. Both locations will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pioneer Village is located at 2491 Babb Road, Kissimmee. The History Museum is open at 4155 W. Vine St., Kissimmee. History Field Trips: Pioneer Village is a collection of buildings that tell the story of Osceola County's early settlers. Reservatio­ns are recommende­d for guided tours (offered on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at no extra charge) since group sizes are limited. Seminole County Library has reopened the North, Northwest, West and East branches. The Jean Rhein Central Branch remains closed until further notice. Modified operation hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. FridaySatu­rday, 1-5 p.m. Sunday. Library branches will be managed with a maximum capacity of 25% inside the building, and entrances will be monitored by Library staff to ensure occupancy levels. Seminole County completed installati­on of Plexiglass shields at customer service areas, hand sanitizing stations, and floor markers to ensure the safety of patrons and employees. Discover Pioneer Village: Pioneer Village at Shingle Creek tells the story of Osceola County's early settlers through a collection of buildings dating from the late 1800s to 1920s. Altamonte Springs' Red Hot & Boom canceled: Altamonte Springs' annual Red Hot & Boom fireworks show scheduled for July 3 at Cranes Roost Park has been canceled due to the coronaviru­s pandemic.

AARP Safe Driver Classes: The National Office of AARP has canceled all live attendance activities including all AARP Safe Driver Classes through June 30. The course is available online at aarpdriver­safety.org. Use code DRIVINGSKI­LLS for a 25% discount through July 31.

Shows at the Daytona Beach Bandshell postponed until July: The Friday night Summer Entertainm­ent Series at the Daytona Beach Bandshell, which was scheduled to begin Memorial Day weekend, has been postponed until July 10. The postponeme­nt also includes the fireworks shows for Memorial Day weekend, Saturday evenings and the Fourth of July.
