Polasek Museum Plans to Reopen: The Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens in Winter Park has reopened its lakeside sculpture gardens. Its exhibition gallery will open June 9, with limited hours. Albin Polasek's historic home and the Capen House will remain closed until further notice. To ensure safety of visitors and staff, masks are required to visit the museum interior and visitors will be required to keep a 6-foot distance between parties at all times inside and outside. Chertok Florida Native Nature Photograph­y Contest Awards Program Virtually: Orange Audubon Society will celebrate the end of its season at 7 p.m. June 18 by showing eligible entries in the 32nd Annual Kit and Sidney Chertok Florida Native Nature Photograph­y Contest, after which winners will be announced. The program will be on YouTube Live. At the program's conclusion, winners in the Youth, Novice and Advanced Amateur/Profession­al categories will be announced and over $1,300 in ribbons, cash and other prizes will be awarded. Marine Science Center reopens on weekends: Admission will be limited to 40 persons at a time. Visitors will be required to pass a health screening with a temperatur­e of less than 100.4 degrees and no symptoms of COVID-19. Explore Volusia outings: Volusia County's Environmen­tal Management Division sponsors free outdoor adventures to acquaint residents with the county's diverse natural habitats and land management practices. Participan­ts are encouraged to bring water and wear comfortabl­e clothes and walking or hiking shoes. With social distancing in mind, each program will be limited to eight persons. ■ 9-11 a.m. June 12, Indian River paddle, Menard-May Park, 413 S. Riverside Drive, Edgewater. Make a short paddle across the channel from Menard-May Park to explore local islands in the Indian River. Participan­ts will seine net and hike to discover the wonders of the estuary. Wear closed toe water shoes and bring a kayak, canoe or stand-up paddleboar­d along with a life preserver and whistle.

■ 8:30-10:30 a.m. June 16, Blue Spring snorkeling, Blue Spring State Park, 2100 W. French Ave., Orange City. Bring your snorkel gear to explore the spring habitat and learn about the importance of springs. Participan­ts must be able to swim. Those under age 18 must wear a personal flotation device and be accompanie­d by an adult guardian at all times. The park will charge its regular admission fee.

■ 9-11:30 a.m. June 19. Callalisa Creek paddle, 598 S. Peninsula Ave., New Smyrna Beach. Enjoy a backwater paddle through a maze of mangroves as you navigate oyster beds, learn about mosquito canals, and see a variety of birds. Bring a kayak, canoe or stand-up paddleboar­d along with a life preserver and whistle.

Bromeliad and tropical plant show and sale: The Seminole Bromeliad and Tropical Plant Society event will include thousands of bromeliads for sale along with orchids, aroids, succulents, ferns, gingers, fruiting plants and plant accessorie­s. Orange County 4-H Virtual Summer Experience: 4-H Virtual Healthy Kids Camp (June 22-25) and 4-H Virtual S.T.E.M. Camp (July 13-16). Both virtual camps are open to youth ages 8-13 and involve two hours of interactiv­e, fun, hands-on activities led by UF Faculty and Volunteers “live” via Zoom. History Field Trips: Pioneer Village is a collection of buildings that tell the story of Osceola County's early settlers. Pioneer Village at Shingle Creek tells the story of Osceola County's early settlers through a collection of buildings dating from the late 1800s to 1920s. Shows at the Daytona Beach Bandshell postponed until July: The Friday night Summer Entertainm­ent Series at the Daytona Beach Bandshell, which was scheduled to begin Memorial Day weekend, has been postponed until July 10. The postponeme­nt also includes the fireworks shows for Memorial Day weekend, Saturday evenings and the Fourth of July.
