Harold Bruce Frutchey

-

Our lives are most often defined by two dates; our date of birth and our date of death. In between is only marked by a hyphen (“-“), yet that is where our life is lived. For Bruce, it was a life of principle, loyalty, and integrity. All of these came from, and were lived out for God, and Bruce was a man who lived his whole life consistently to his values whether anyone was watching or not. Through that consistency and strength, Bruce has left a legacy of “hard work” and “doing the right thing” with those who he influenced.

Bruce was born on June 3, 1943 in Scranton, PA and grew up in Hackettstown, NJ where he was an Eagle Scout, the New Jersey state marble champ, and graduated high school in 1961. Bruce went on to Lehigh University where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity and graduated as an Electrical Engineer in 1965. After graduation, Bruce took a job with Bendix Corporation in their up and coming Aerospace Engineering Division. His job took him down to Orlando, FL where he discovered the two loves that would change his life forever. The first was his wife Daphne who he would marry in 1967 and remain loyal until his last day. The second love was accounting, which he discovered while getting his Master of Management degree at Rollins College. After passing the CPA exam, he made a career change into accounting that led him to start his own accounting practice in 1976. Bruce would continue growing his business until his retirement in 2011. Bruce’s other passions included his membership in the Rotary, photography, and loving on his grandchildren. With his work finished here, he gained his wings in the morning of April 22, 2021, peacefully, beautifully, and surrounded by family. Bruce was preceded by his parents, Harold and Sarah Frutchey, and his granddaughter, Shannon McIntyre. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Daphne and by his children Cindy Clark and her husband David, Greg McIntyre and his wife Rose, and Bob Frutchey; as well as his six grandchildren, Russell Clark, Melissa Burns, Marshall Clark, Mae McIntyre, Mary Ellis Frutchey, Benjamin Frutchey, and Kate Frutchey; and five great grandchildren Sadie and Conner Clark, and Gerry, Campbell, and McIntyre Burns; and his sister, Jane Scott and her husband Gary.

The memorial will be held May 2nd from 3-5 pm at the Maitland DeGusipe Funeral Home @ 9001 Orlando Ave, Maitland FL. Gifts can be made to Advent Health Hospice @ 605 Mongomery Road, Altamonte Springs, FL in lieu of flowers.
