These three special trees have Magic Kingdom roots
What’s the oldest living thing in a Walt Disney World theme park? I’d put good money on Liberty Tree, the oak that stands in Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Square, across from Hall of Presidents.
It’s hard to determine its exact age, and estimates vary. But we know it was big when it was transplanted to its current spot before the park opened in 1971. As this week’s entry into our Disney World at 50 series, updated every Wednesday on OrlandoSentinel.com, we look at three notable Magic Kingdom trees: a real big transplant, a real big fake and, finally, a fake that’s also a transplant.
