Marjorie M Perkins

-

Marjorie “Marji” Marie Perkins, died on May 10. Born on March 8, 1965 in Dayton, Ohio, after a few years moving around as an Air Force brat, her dad retired to New Smyrna Beach. She later moved to Orlando to attend the University of Central Florida, receiving her Bachelors and Master’s degrees and has been a proud Knight ever since. After college and a few shortterm jobs, she found a home at Holland and Reilly, where she enjoyed working 31 years as a CPA & auditor. Marji was limited in what she could do physically, but that didn’t stop her from being a big sports fan and in 2003 the Orlando Sentinel did a feature, calling her the “Super Fan”. She started off watching baseball with her father and has cheered for the UCF collegiate and Orlando Rays. But her favorites were the UCF Knights football team as a season ticket holder since 1996 and the all versions of the local hockey team, currently the Solar Bears. She was rarely seen not wearing black & gold or teal & purple, those teams’ colors. She is preceded into death by her parents Laurence and Norma Perkins and is survived by her sister Laurie Perkins Reed and brother-in-law Kip who live in Lakeland, FL. Service details will be available on her Facebook page.
