Orlando City opens preseason friendly scrimmage to public

Orlando City announced Friday that its upcoming preseason friendly against the Colorado Rapids will be open to the public.

The Lions and Rapids will meet on Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. at Exploria Stadium.

“We’re very happy to be able to welcome fans to Exploria Stadium on February 11 so they can get their first look at the exciting and promising 2022 Orlando City roster,” President of business operations Jarrod Dillon said in a statement. “We heard from our fans, loud and clear, and I, personally, look forward to getting my first experience of that passion and dedication for our Lions at this match. Of course, I’d also like to thank the Rapids for being willing to open the doors to this match, so we can all enjoy some preseason action.”

The match will live stream on LionNation TV.

Tickets for the general public are already on sale on Ticketmast­er for $10.

The 2022 season ticket holders will be able to get four compliment­ary per account, according to the team’s press release, with more informatio­n coming from the club’s member services department.

Face masks will be strongly encouraged at Exploria Stadium.

Orlando will play two earlier preseason scrimmages with the first on Feb. 3 against Minnesota United and Feb. 5 against FC Dallas. Both matches will be closed to fans.

Other closed-door scrimmages slated for the Lions: Feb. 16 against Miami FC; Feb. 18 vs. FC Cincinnati; Feb. 19 vs. Tampa Bay Rowdies.
