Orlando woman dies in hit-run

An Orlando woman died after a vehicle struck her and fled the scene in Orange County Friday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A 4-door sedan traveled south on Hiawassee Road near Watseka Avenue around 7:35 p.m. when its driver hit an Orlando woman crossing Hiawassee Road in an unknown direction, said Lt. Kim Montes, the FHP spokesperson.

The 60-year-old woman later died at AdventHealth Apopka, Montes said.
