Mom gives the greatest gift

Salgado donated her stem cells to her twins in order to cure them of sickle cell disease, an inherited blood disorder that they have been struggling with their entire lives. “I didn’t want to see them sick anymore. Always sick, always sick. I didn’t have the time to [have] a normal life,” Salgado said.
