CultureFest to bring art, music and more to Milk District
After taking a year off due to COVID-19, CultureFest Orlando is returning to the Milk District next month. This annual celebration of art, music, dance, food and community will be returning to Festival Park on Juneteenth weekend (June 19) and will feature live performances, new food options and more.
This year’s event will have a heavy focus on local artisans according to organizer Oriana Campbell, who says that several painters, sculptors and other creators will be on hand not only as vendors, but will also be working together on “a custom piece that will be done just for CultureFest that will be showcased at the event.”
In addition, CultureFest will be hosting a wide swath of musicians from Florida and around the country.
“It is really cool because the goal is to be able to highlight independent artists from all over,” Campbell said, adding that she wanted to make sure the event included “artists that are typically overlooked.”
Musicians that have already been confirmed for the event include LaUni, Money Mike, Otis Oak, On1Band, Brittany Bae and more.
Those who have attended CultureFest in the past will be happy to learn this year’s event will feature more food options than were previously available with a newly-expanded food truck market area that will have almost a dozen local vendors.
“Right now we have 10 food trucks confirmed, all from around Central Florida. It’s a music festival. It’s a family festival. It’s for all ages,” Campbell said of this year’s event, adding, “It’s a really community-oriented event [with] vendors and small business owners from both local and far.”
Culture Fest Orlando will take place on June 18 at Festival Park, from noon through 9 p.m.
General admission is $32 for adults, $5 for youth 11-16 and free for children younger than age 10. More information can be found at the official event website weareculturefest.com.
