Festival of Trees to bring ‘Gifts of the Season’ to Museum of Art this fall
“The Festival of Trees not only brings holiday spirit and joy to the community but also ultimately supports the arts and art education at OMA. To bring timeless elegance and holiday tradition while supporting the arts is truly a joy for the Council of 101.”
— Linda Cegelis, president of Council of 101, in a news release
The Orlando Museum of Art will once again resemble a winter wonderland this fall as the Festival of Trees returns, touting plenty of holiday cheer.
The annual event, presented by the Council of 101 Nov. 11-20, raises money for the Loch Haven Park cultural institution. This year’s theme, “Gifts of the Season,” celebrates the gifts of time, talent and heart from the Central Florida community. Visitors will enjoy more than 50 designer-inspired trees, giant gingerbread houses, wreaths, a holiday shopping experience, live entertainment and more.
“The Festival of Trees not only brings holiday spirit and joy to the community but also ultimately supports the arts and art education at OMA,” said Linda Cegelis, president of Council of 101, in a news release. “To bring timeless elegance and holiday tradition while supporting the arts is truly a joy for the Council of 101.”
Last year, tree themes ranged from Harry Potter to nutcracker and everything in between. Special events each year include Festival of Tree’s opening night gala, breakfast with Santa and a Reindeer Romp children’s party.
To date, the Council of 101 has raised more than $13 million for the museum’s educational programs. Tickets for this year’s event go on sale Oct. 1 and admission prices are $20 for adults, and $12 for children ages 3-12, seniors ages 60 and older, military personnel and first responders.
