Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis returned from an injury last week to set a careerhigh with 321 passing yards as the Seminoles stayed undefeated with a convincing 44-14 win over Boston College on Saturday night.

FSU (4-0, 2-0 ACC) is off to its best start since the 2015 season when the team rolled off six straight wins on its way to a 10-3 record.

Tailback Trey Benson started the scoring with a 93-yard kickoff return to open the game as the Seminoles jumped out to a 31-0 halftime lead. Benson would add a 15-yard touchdown run later in the first quarter and a 36-yard score in the fourth.

Travis, who left the Seminoles’

35-31 win over Louisville last week in the first half with an apparent leg injury, completed 10 of his first 13 passes. Boston College quarterback Phil Jurkovec was intercepted twice as the Eagles were held scoreless until 3:31 of the third quarter.

Florida State’s defense didn’t allow BC (1-3, 0-2) to cross midfield in the first half. The Eagles punted 4 times. Omarion Cooper and Greedy Vance each picked off Jurkovec. BC finished with 7 punts.

BC scored its first points late in the third quarter, when Jurkovec connected with Alex Broome on a 5-yard TD reception.

Behind an inexperienced offensive line, the Eagles managed just 235 offensive yards.

The Seminoles scored 31 firsthalf points and had the biggest

halftime lead over an ACC opponent since 2013.

Lawrance Toafili had a 1-yard TD run for FSU, his third scoring run of his season, and Treshaun Ward had a 22-yard touchdown run. That gives the ‘Noles 12 rushing touchdowns in four games.

Darion Williamson caught 5 passes for 98 yards, both of which are career highs.

FSU had more than 500 yards of total offense in a game for the second time this season. The Seminoles accounted for 638 yards of total offense in the season opener against Duquesne.

The 37-point win was the largest deficit in the series since FSU defeated B.C., 45-7 on Nov. 11, 2016.
