The woman identified as a person of interest in the killing of a Mount Dora couple is now facing two first-degree murder charges, according to Lake County Jail records.

Vickie Lynn Williams, 50, was extradited from Savannah, Ga., to Lake County Friday on a grand theft charge after she was arrested while driving a stolen car belonging to the victims, Sharon and Darryl Getman. The murder charges appeared on the Lake County Jail website Saturday after she went before a judge. An arrest affidavit was not available.

Mount Dora Interim Police Chief Mike Gibson said Tuesday Williams was seen several times on camera and by security guards on Dec. 30 at the Waterman Village senior living apartment community where the Sharon, 80, and Darryl, 83, lived. Their car was photographed leaving the facility shortly after 2 a.m. Dec. 31. Later that day security guards were alerted the Getmans’ garage door was open and found their bodies inside.

Williams was arrested on Monday in Savannah when she was caught with the stolen Kia Soul.

She has a court date scheduled for later this month and is at the Lake County Jail without bond.

The Getmans children, Anthony and Brittany Getman, said in a statement released earlier this week their parents lived in Mount Dora for over 20 years.

“They were enjoying their golden years staying active and spending time with their many friends,” they said. “We appreciate all the support we have received. It just shows how well thought of our parents were.”

The younger Getmans said they were “stunned, devastated and heart-broken by the horrific murder.”

“If there are words to describe what has happened and it’s impact to our family and the community, we have not found them,” they said.
