Ernest “Ernie” Keller
Ernest “Ernie” Keller, age 84, of Longwood, FL passed away on April 8, 2023. He was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on October 30, 1938 and graduated Bridgewater High School. He was married to Kathy Keller.
Ernie passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, April 8, 2023. His best friend, his wife of almost 55 years, Kathy, was by his side when he died. He was happiest when he was with her. His family is deeply saddened by his passing but comforted that he was with her.
Ernie grew up in Cambridge, MA, where his family had a general store known as the Hurley Street Market. He lived in Bridgewater, MA for his high school years. He was a tinkerer and loved to travel. He lived a full life filled with friends, but his family was his passion. He had three doting daughters and a loving son who all cherished the funny stories he would share of his life. A fantastic listener and armed with a lifetime of experiences, he was always ready with advice and to serve as a sounding board for his family. His sense of humor was infectious and could put a smile on anyone’s face. He loved information and was an avid news reader. He loved his grandchildren and cherished their lives with all of his big heart.
Ernie was most recently a residential contractor and built many custom homes in Seminole County. In his early years he was a professional “safe cracker” for LeFebure and Mosler before that. Before joining Mosler, he served in the US Navy as an electrician aboard the USS Brown. He was in Hawaii the day it became a state. He is survived by wife, Kathy, children: Heidi (Kim), Robin (Jeff), Scott (Gayla), Kristin (Chip); grandchildren: Mike (Lena), Sam and Ruth and great grandson: Griffin; brother, John (Dawn) and predeceased by parents Ernest and Irene Keller and sisters Mary Lorraine White (Eddie) and Irene Carol Russell (David).
