Fred lead a colorful and diverse life. He traveled extensivel­y for both business and pleasure and maintained homes in both Florida and Illinois. He owned and operated various businesses throughout his career and was an entreprene­ur as a teenager to 83. His friends and associates were vast. Ranging from politician­s, celebritie­s and a few criminals and he was loved by all. Fred joined the Airforce in 1952 and served in the Korean War. He helped support his parents at an early age and maintained a steady work ethic throughout his life. He is survived by his wife Sandra and his daughters Pamela Pollak-Becker, Carla Merlak, Michelle Cohen, Kimberly McNamara and Heather Pollak as well as numerous grandchild­ren and great grandchild­ren. He was proceeded in death by his parents Stanley and Josephine and his first wife Jeanette. The family wishes to thank the Hospice nurses who tended to Fred. Illinois age 83 died
