Elizabeth Rutherford “Betty” Abell, age 87, passed away on December 4, 2018. She survived her husband of 49 years, Joseph Frederick Abell, and leaves behind her sister, Margaret Judd; children Patricia Shenk and Neil Abell and their partners Donald Shenk and Terry Abell; grandchild­ren Kevin, Cara, and Raven Shenk, Jonathan Abell, Gaia Zori, their partners, and 8 great-grandchild­ren and numerous nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was a lifelong resident of Orlando, and a lover of Florida’s natural beauty and wildlife. She cherished her home, where family and friends gathered for holidays and reunions, and was a model of compassion, warmth, and welcoming good spirits to all. She worked for 27 years as a nurse championin­g women’s health. She is deeply grieved, and leaves a lasting inspiratio­n as we strive to live, like her, with kindness and generosity as our guides. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 on Saturday, December 15 at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Gotha, Florida with a reception to follow.
