Fire destroys building in Orange County
Flames engulfed a storage shed in west Orange County Saturday afternoon, causing the structure to collapse, Orange County Fire Rescue officials said.
Firefighters were called to the building in the 4200 block of Jackson Street about 2:45 p.m. Smoke and flames were visible when they arrived, the agency said on social media.
The fire was put out by 3 p.m., according to Fire Rescue spokeswoman Ashley Gipson.
No one was injured, but officials said the structure, located on the property of a home in the Malibu Groves area near Ivey Lane Elementary, collapsed from the flames.
The State Fire Marshal was called to investigate after Orange County Fire Rescue officials believed the fire may have started from “an illegal burn that got out of hand,” Gipson said.
