Home prices continue to rise for 6th straight month
Home prices gained in September, a leading gauge showed, indicating a moderate but stable housing recovery is under way after several months of improvement.
The Standard & Poor’s/Case-Shiller home price index for the 20 largest metropolitan areas in the country rose 0.3 percent from August and 3.0 percent from September 2011.
Dwindling supply and record-low mortgage interest rates have helped boost housing this year.
