Dallari selected as new chairman of Seminole County Commission
Seminole County Commissioner Bob Dallari, who was elected to a third term this year, was selected as the board’s new chairman Tuesday by fellow commissioners. He replaces Brenda Carey.
County commissioners select a new chairman among themselves every November. The chairman presides over county commission meetings, signs legal documents on behalf of the commission and appoints fellow commissioners to committees.
Dallari won the District 1 seat without opposition. Carey defeated Democrat Gail Ellis for the District 5 seat, and former state legislator Lee Constantine beat write-in candidate Kevin Gross for the District 3 seat at the Nov. 6 election. Also at Tuesday’s meeting, Dallari, Carey and Constantine were sworn in to four-year terms.
