Apopka woman gets 6 years in drug case
An Apopka woman was sentenced to six years in prison for stealing prescription pads from the doctor’s office where she worked, and then using the documents to write prescriptions for powerful drugs, the U.S. Attorney’s Office reported Tuesday. Terrie Jaime, 43, was charged with writing numerous prescriptions in her own name and in the names of other people. When pharmacists called to verify the prescriptions, Jaime vouched for their validity. Agents used data from Florida’s prescription-drug-monitoring program to build their case.
