Dixon, who had been suspended by the team since October for “a violation of team rules”, said in a statement released by the Missouri athletic department that he will look to play at another school.

“It’s in the best interest of me, my family and the University of Missouri to finish my career elsewhere,” said Dixon, who was the 2011-12 Big 12 sixth man of the year.

According to a police report obtained by the Kansas City Star, a woman who worked in the school’s athletic department said she was sexually assaulted by Dixon on Jan. 9, 2010. The report, filed by university police on Jan. 11, says the alleged assault took place at her apartment.

A source told the newspaper that the victim alerted former Tigers coach Mike Anderson about the incident, who told her he would support her if she decided to press charges. She ultimately decided not to, the source said, because Dixon was a basketball player, and “she was afraid of what might happen.” Top 25: Michael Frazier (17 points) led six players in double figures as No. 7 Florida (6-0) routed Marquette 82-49 in a Big EastSEC Challenge game. ...
