University of Central Florida police are continuing to investigate a suspected rape that occurred early Sunday in a campus parking garage.

UCF spokesman Grant Heston said the victim and the alleged attacker met off campus and returned to the school together.

The attack occurred about 1 a.m. Sunday in Garage B.

Police were notified after 3 a.m., prompting school officials to issue text and email alerts.

The suspect is in his early 20s, about 5-foot-7 with a medium build and blond hair, the victim told police.

He wore a red shirt and may have been driving a dark fourdoor car.

According to a UCF Police Department report, the attacker told the victim his name was Ted.

Knocked off his motorcycle, Oakley skidded across the pave- ment and struck a guardrail. Oakley, whowas riding with a revoked drivers license, was pronounced dead at the crash scene, according to FHP.

Felon captured after making threats

Orlando police captured a felon Monday who officers say threatened the family of one of the Orange County inmates who was briefly freed from state prison using fraudulent court documents.

Willie Slater Jr., 36, is the brother of Cedric Slater — the manmurdered by Charles Walker, whowas wrongly freed last month from Franklin Correctional Institution in the Panhandle.

Slater was charged with aggravated stalking and making threats to kill after he made “serious and credible threats” against Walker’s relatives shortly after learning of the killer’s erroneous release, said police spokesman Sgt. Jim Young.

Walker walked out of prison in late September and was free for several weeks before authorities cornered him in Panama City beach hotel with fellow inmate Joseph Jenkins.

Walker was sentenced to life in prison for shooting 23-year-old Cedric Slater to death in 1999.

Fake court documents amending Walker’s sentence and ordering his release were put into the 34-year-old’s case file.

State authorities are now investigating how and who manufac- tured the phony orders that forged the signatures of judges in Orange County.

Officers have also charged Slater, a felon himself, with violating his probation.

He is being held without bail at the Orange County Jail.

Fatal accidents mar roadways Monday

The Florida Highway Patrol investigated a pair of fatal crashes on Central Florida roads Monday.

Troopers investigated a crash that happened shortly before 10 a.m. on West State Road 426 at Slavia Road in Oviedo, and another that happened about 10:30 on State Road11 at Evergreen Terrace in DeLand.

In the DeLand crash, a 78-year-old man was killed when he drifted off the roadway and onto the grass shoulder, according to FHP.

He then overcorrected, causing his van to overturn several times.

The driver, William Trombley of DeLand, was pronounced dead at Florida Hospital DeLand.

In Oviedo, an 89-year-old man died when his bicycle was hit by a pickup.

Oscar Gerken was riding his three-wheeled bike in the crosswalk across Aloma Avenue when he was struck by a pickup driven by Cecelia Lukas, 21, also of Oviedo.

According to FHPtroopers, Lukas said she didn’t see Gerken before making a left turn into him.

Gerken was pronounced dead at Orlando Regional Medical Center.

The crash remains under investigation, FHP said.
