-

Kickoff for UCF’s home game against Houston on Nov. 9 is set for 7 p.m. and the game will air on ESPN2, the school announced Monday.

The 23rd-ranked Knights (6-1, 3-0) face a major test against the Cougars (6-1, 3-0), who take on USF on Thursday night.

It will be the Knights’ fifth nationally televised game this season. UCF is coming off of a 62-17 win over UConn Saturday. The Knights are tied atop the American Athletic Conference with Houston, which is coming off an impressive 49-14 win over Rutgers.

UCF K Shawn Moffitt was named American Athletic Conference special-teams player of the week after hitting both field goal attempts during the Knights’ win over UConn.

Moffitt, a Dr. Phillips grad, is a perfect 9-for-9 on field goals this season. He is one of 10 kickers in the nation to remain perfect with a minimum of five tries.

Moffitt hit his first-career 50-yard field goal with 7:53 remaining in the first half against the Huskies. It was UCF’s first 50-yard field goal since Nick Cattoi hit one at Southern Miss on Sept. 12, 2009.

Moffitt also hit a 35-yard field goal during the UConn win. He currently ranks third in UCF history with a 75.0 conversion rate. He is also 28-for-28 on extra points this season and ranks second on the team in scoring behind Storm Johnson with 55 points.
