Veterans deserve better treatment
The recent news about our government’s mistreatment of vets is deplorable. These honorable individuals deserve better.
I’m 20 years old, butmy life changed when I metNorman Perlberg. At 89, Perlberg is now just 5-foot-1andwalks stooped over. But this man seems10 feet tall to me. Perlberg openedmy eyes to the past, as he regaled me with his history as a B-52 tail gunner duringWorldWar II.
His bravery and desire to put aside his fears of death in order to fight for his country is a common story among veterans. Hewas one of those who signed up before turning 18, and he never looked back.
I began researching veterans, and that journey took me to Bobby White, a Vietnam vet who returned to his country, but his war didn’t end after the physical fighting stopped. He had posttraumatic stress disorder, which wreaked havoc on his life.
But this man is a vet, and that meant he’s a fighter. White has spent the past 30 yearsworking with vets to help them with their PTSD. As White says, “Every time I heard another story and helped someone else, Iwas helpingmyself.”
Our vets are not simply bodies who fight for us. They are our elite who have an inner strength that shows at every age. It’s time to take a stand together as one and showtheworld that unnecessary veteran suffering is unacceptable.

It is amazing howone interview withU.S. Sen. Marco Rubio can cause so many personal attacks from the left. The reason is simple. The left’s solution to correct the global-warming problem is so ridiculous it could not win an honest debate. The left’s only position is to say the “experts” have spoken, it must be true, the opposition must be nuts — end of argument.
