Four’s a crowd at Colonial

Talk about making a move.

Kevin Chappell began Saturday’s third round at 1 over, among the last tomake theweekend cut.

He followed with a 7under-par 63 for a score of 204 and is second at the Crowne Plaza Invitation­al at Colonial.

HidekiMats­uyama shot a 64, David Toms a 65, Chris Strouda 69 andChadCam­pbell a 68 to share the lead at 7-under 203.

Chappell is among five players tied at 204.

Chappell’s run included six birdies and an eagle on No. 11. He made the first turn at 29, creating a buzz that he might be heading for a 59 andPGATour history.

Five players have shot all-time low59s inPGATour competitio­n.

“I told my caddie, man, that would be pretty cool to do that here,” Chappell said. “59 would have been nice, but kind of lost the feel of the putter there on the back nine.”

Matsuyama had six birdieson theway toa64.

“I played well. I made goodputts at the secondhole and the third hole which kind of set the tone,” he said. Flawless Nordqvist grabs lead: AnnaNordqv­ist posted a bogey-free 6-under 66 to take a one-stroke lead over Catriona Matthew into the final round of the Airbus LPGAClassi­c.

The 26-year-old Nordqvist, who won the Honda LPGA Thailand and the Kia Classic earlier this season, birdied four consecutiv­e holes through No. 5 and addedtwomo­reonthenin­th and 16th holes in her second straight 66.

Matthew made bogeys on three of her first five holes, but rallied with four birdies in a span of six holes to salvage a 70.

Stacy Lewis had eight birdies in a round of 66 and was alone in third, two strokes behind. Monty makes his move: Colin Montgomeri­e sank a 30-foot birdie putt at the final hole to earn a onestroke lead over Bernhard Langer after the third round of the Senior PGA Championsh­ip.

Montgomeri­e’s slick downhill putt broke perfectly into the middle of the cup for a 3-under-par 68 at Harbor Shores in Benton Harbor, Mich..

Montgomeri­e has 31 wins on the European Tour, but his only American victory came at the unofficial 1998 World Championsh­ip match play event, whichthe following year became a WGC event. Bjorn catches fire: An exhilarati­ng run of six birdies in a row catapulted Thomas Bjorn into a five-stroke lead after the BMW PGA Championsh­ip third round.

It was raining birdies for the 43-year-old as he left the field trailing inhiswake with a 5-under-par 67.

Bjorn, whohasbeen­at the top of the leaderboar­d since firing a record 62 in the opening round, picked up strokes at the 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th before adding another at 18.
