Jackson OK after crashing his car

- Tribune news services

Seahawks running back Fred Jackson was uninjured when he crashed his car outside the team’s facility on Tuesday.

The Renton Police Department said Jackson lost control of his Corvette as he drove down Seahawks Way. Jackson’s vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage. Jackson remained at the scene until officers arrived, and he was cooperative. He was then taken by team personnel back to the facility and did not report any injuries.

Early reports indicated Jackson may have been racing with teammate Marshawn Lynch, but Renton police said those reports were false.

Giants tight end Daniel Fells was released from Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Center, where he had been treated for MRSA since Oct. 2. Fells was diagnosed with the antibiotic-resistant bacteria that kills thousands a year a couple of days before the Giants were to play the Bills in Buffalo.

Tomlin also said center Maurkice Pouncey has not had a second surgery on his broken left fibula, as had been reported.

Coach gets

after them:

According to ESPN.com, Saints LB coach Joe Vitt played some defense of his own outside his Metairie, La., home Saturday morning, chasing away a man and woman who were attempting to steal his car and a neighbor’s car. The 61-year-old suffered a torn Achilles tendon and a broken wrist after falling, Saints spokesman Greg Bensel confirmed. Bensel added that Vitt “never missed a day of work.”

The Bills scrambled to make moves from across the Atlantic Ocean to patch up a banged-up roster. WR Marquise Goodwin was placed on season-ending IR, and offensive tackle Jordan Mills was signed off of the Lions’ practice squad. The moves were made while the Bills spent their first full day in London in preparation for their game against the Jaguars on Sunday.
