SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Russell Wilson threw a 43-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Lockett late in the first half, Marshawn Lynch jumped the pile for a 1-yard score, and the Seattle Seahawks beat the San Francisco 49ers 20-3 on Thursday for their fourth straight win in this rivalry.

Wilson completed 10 of his first 12 passes and finished with 235 yards passing. He was sacked five times to push his NFL-leading total to 31. Lynch ran for 122 yards despite vomiting on the sideline in the first half as Seattle (3-4) won its first road game in four tries, avoiding another fourthquarter collapse.

The 49ers are 2-5.

The Bears cut veteran defensive lineman Jeremiah Ratliff on Thursday, a day after he and general manager Ryan Pace had a heated conversation outside team headquarters.

Releasing Ratliff comes as a surprise in a strictly football context. He was regarded by coaches as one of their best defensive linemen, if not the best. But after what sources said was a heated altercation involving Ratliff on Wednesday morning at Halas Hall, the Bears chose to quickly cut ties with the 34-year-old lineman.

Lake Forest, Ill., police were summoned to Halas Hall after the incident with Ratliff had died down. It’s not yet known what initially caused Ratliff ’s agitation. But according to sources, that incident required Pace’s intervention and Ratliff ’s aggravation escalated again from there.
