Winter Park’s Parks & Recreation Department hosts today’s renovation groundbrea­king for the Winter Park Golf Course, 761 Old England Ave., beginning at noon. A free lunch cookout is slated for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., while supplies last, and festivitie­s during the day include merchandis­e deals and giveaways.

Renovation Groundbrea­king for Winter Park Golf

Course: Hosted by the city’s Parks & Recreation Department. City officials will offer remarks and lead the groundbrea­king ceremony at noon with a divot toss to kick off the six-month renovation project. The golf course is expected to be closed from March to September 2016, with a grand re-opening scheduled for the fall. A free lunch cookout will be from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. (while supplies last).
