Wilson, James won’t play Tigers

TALLAHASSEE — Florida State senior receiver Bobo

Wilson will not play in Saturday’s game against No. 3 Clemson, Jimbo Fisher said after Thursday’s practice.

Wilson suffered a right foot injury during FSU’s win over Wake Forest on Oct. 15 and has not practiced this week, Fisher said.

“You’re talking about a guy who’s played a lot of games and done a lot of things in a lot of big-time environments and atmosphere,” Fisher said of Wilson, a member of FSU’s 2013 national-championship team.

The Seminoles will rely on three sophomore receivers to replace Wilson, who is second on the team with 30 receptions for 390 yards and a touchdown. Wilson also managed FSU’s punt-return duties, returning nine punts for 155 yards and a touchdown.

Sophomores Auden Tate will likely start in place of Wilson while Nyqwan Murray will assume punt-return responsibilities. Da’Vante Phillips will also see the field during Saturday’s game.

Tate leads the Seminoles with four receiving touchdowns this season on just eight receptions. Murray and Phillips have five and four receptions, respectively.

“They have a good chance to be really good players,” Fisher said of the trio. “I’m hoping they go out there and play.”

Fisher confirmed standout safety Derwin James (knee) is also out for the game. James had surgery to repair a torn meniscus on Sept. 12 and will not redshirt this season, Fisher said Monday. Next game: No. 12 FSU vs. No. 3 Clemson, 8 p.m., ABC
