-

The Orlando Solar Bears’ attempt at a second consecutive victory against the Alaska Aces late Friday night missed its mark.

Ben Lake’s goal with 23 seconds left in the second period broke a 2-all tie and helped the Aces (20-10-1-4, 45 points) defeat the Solar Bears (19-13-4-2, 44 points) 4-2 in an ECHL game in Anchorage. The game drew an announced crowd of 3,279 to Sullivan Arena.

The Solar Bears defeated the Aces 6-2 on Wednesday night in the first meeting ever between the teams.

In their second game, the Solar Bears scored twice in the second period. Darik Angeli tied the score at 1 at 9:05 of the period. After Stephen Perfetto’s second goal of the game for Alaska, Orlando’s Chris Bradley found the net with 4:41 to go in the period.

Peter Sivak’s empty-net goal with 45 seconds to go in the third period completed the scoring.

Solar Bears goalie Kasimir Kaskisuo made 36 saves. Orlando was outshot 40-31 and was denied on all three of its power-play opportunities.

The teams concluded their three-game series Saturday night.
