Paris Saint-Germain, Tottenham to play in Orlando
Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur will face off in Orlando July 22 at Camping World Stadium as part of the International Champions Cup. The matchup between the French Ligue 1 Paris Saint-Germain and English Premier League Tottenham will kick off at 8 p.m. and air on ESPN2. The lineup had long been rumored but was officially announced by Cup organizers Tuesday night.
PSG won a French championship and is the former club of current Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino. Paris SaintGermain’s lineup features Argentina’s Angel Di Maria and Uruguay’s Edinson Cavani, while Harry Kane and Dele Alli headline the Tottenham roster.
Visit Orlando landed a sponsorship deal with the International Champions Cup that helped bring the PSG-Spurs matchup to Camping World Stadium. Orlando is slated to host an additional International Champions Cup game in 2018.
Florida Citrus Sports leaders have said they intend to bring more international soccer events to Camping World Stadium. The venue seats more than 60,000 and organizers traditionally roll out grass to cover the stadium’s default artificial turf for soccer events. Last summer, Orlando hosted Copa América Centenario matches at the stadium.
Tickets for the PSG-Spurs game will go on sale to the general public April 4. For more ticket information, visit internationalchampions cup.com.
