Quilters from around the globe gather at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando for the World Quilt Show. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., see exhibits and displays of original quilts, get appraisals, learn about the latest machines and take workshops from top fabric artists. Admission is $13. ♦Disaster Response Equipment Touch-a-Truck showcase: Learn about vehicles and equipment used to respond to severe weather events, emergencie­s and disasters, including: Kennedy Space Center’s Lunar Rover, Seminole County Sheriff's Office’s helicopter and SWAT vehicles, drones, fire/rescue trucks, Public Works equipment and various law enforcemen­t vehicles. There will be scheduled demonstrat­ions throughout the event, and attendees also will have the opportunit­y to meet first responders and register for emergency alerts. ♦Antique telephone and

insulator show: The Art & History Museums, Maitland, antique-telephone and insulator show features collectors exhibiting rare and historic telephones and insulators of all sizes and colors. Memorabili­a also will be on display. The public is asked to bring antique telephones to sell and trade. Restored working telephones will be for sale. The A&H operates the Early Telephone Museum, which contains artifacts that chronicle the history of telephone service in the Maitland area from the early 1900s to 1979. ♦Camellia show and festival: The Camellia Society of Central Florida’s 72nd annual event will feature award-winning blooms from Central Florida and throughout the southeaste­rn United States. Public viewing of the winning camellia blooms will be from 1-4 p.m. There will also be assorted varieties of camellia plants for sale, tours of Mead Botanical Garden, and expert gardeners available to answer gardening questions. ♦Antiques and collectibl­es

♦Crealde’s 7th Annual

Night of Fire: Tour the studios, sculpture garden, and galleries, participat­e in art workshops and demonstrat­ions including torch cutting, a gas kiln firing, raku firing and a light-painting photograph­y display over Lake Sterling.
