The scoop on how to score big on Men in Black: Alien Attack

- By Kathleen Christiansen

The Men in Black: Alien Attack ride at Universal Studios is different from most rides at the park, as it involves guest interaction — plus a certain level of skill to zap as much alien scum as possible in the four-minute adventure. And depending on your team’s score, the ride has two endings: One where an alien coach tells you to buck up and try again and another where you get fitted for your suit.

If you’re looking to achieve the latter ending, follow these pro tips.

The guns will shoot continuously if you hold down the trigger, which not only enables you to shoot faster and more often, but also saves your fingers from cramping caused by repeated trigger pulling.

Aliens in the windows are worth a lot of points, and those on the second and third stories are worth more than those on the first.

After you have your picture taken by the alien ambush, you’ll notice aliens playing chess below trees. If you look at the trees, you’ll notice a few sets of eyes that are worth major points. You’ll rack up even more points if you just stick to one set of eyes and repeatedly hit them as they turn green.

Once you’ve moved beyond the bio scan area, behind the riders on the right side are two posters with aliens on them. Aim for the green eyes to rack up some serious points.

Also after the bio scan, the narrator instructs riders to shoot the opposite team’s fusion exhaust port (large red circle at the top of the vehicle). Aim and shoot to not only rack up some serious points, but also to send your opponents swirling. Note: You can shoot other teams’ fusion exhaust ports besides the one opposite you.

Perhaps the best way to boost your score on this ride is toward the very end, when Agent Zed instructs you to push the red button. You’re competing with the other riders in your vehicle to get to the red button first and earn a whopping 100,000 points. Note: More than one player on your team can get the bonus if you hit the button simultaneously.
