Cops: Argument over drink led to shooting
A 39-year-old man was shot in the foot outside an Ocoee bar after an apparent argument over a shot of alcohol, according to Ocoee police.
Officers responded to the scene outside Frank’s Place, a bar at 146 North Clarke Road, about 10 p.m. on Tuesday. The injured man told police another man he didn’t recognize offered him a shot of alcohol.
He told authorities he refused the shot, which prompted an argument. They both agreed to take it outside and the suspect pulled out a firearm and began to shoot, Ocoee Police Deputy Chief Stephen McCosker said.
The man took off in a black BMW or Mercedes, McCosker said. The victim was taken to Health Central Hospital.
Surveillance video footage shows at least four other people were standing in front of the establishment when the shooting began, but they quickly dispersed.
