Cops: Ar­gu­ment over drink led to shoot­ing

A 39-year-old man was shot in the foot out­side an Ocoee bar af­ter an ap­par­ent ar­gu­ment over a shot of al­co­hol, ac­cord­ing to Ocoee po­lice.

Of­fi­cers re­sponded to the scene out­side Frank’s Place, a bar at 146 North Clarke Road, about 10 p.m. on Tues­day. The in­jured man told po­lice an­other man he didn’t rec­og­nize of­fered him a shot of al­co­hol.

He told au­thor­i­ties he re­fused the shot, which prompted an ar­gu­ment. They both agreed to take it out­side and the sus­pect pulled out a firearm and be­gan to shoot, Ocoee Po­lice Deputy Chief Stephen McCosker said.

The man took off in a black BMW or Mercedes, McCosker said. The vic­tim was taken to Health Cen­tral Hospi­tal.

Sur­veil­lance video footage shows at least four other peo­ple were stand­ing in front of the es­tab­lish­ment when the shoot­ing be­gan, but they quickly dis­persed.
