Playing on the road for a second consecutive night, coach Drake Berehowsky’s Orlando Solar Bears (2-3-0-0) picked up their first away victory of the season with a 4-1 win over the Atlanta Gladiators (2-1-0-0) on Saturday at Infinite Energy Arena in Duluth, Ga.

After a scoreless first period in which Martin Ouellette made 15 saves for the Solar Bears, Orlando found its offensive stride in the second frame.

Hunter Fejes netted a shorthanded goal just 1:10 after the forward pounced on a loose puck in the defensive zone and raced up ice before he backhanded an attempt underneath the blocker of goalie Sean Bonar to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.

Zach Todd made it 2-0 for Orlando at 2:58 with his first goal of the season as he snapped a shot from the right circle that beat Bonar while Fejes cut across the goaltender’s field of vision.

Vincent Dunn extended the lead for the Solar Bears to three goals at 10:16 with his second of the season.

After Stefan Fournier was assessed a five-minute boarding major at 13:49, the Gladiators capitalized with the man advantage as Justin MacDonald buried a power-play goal at 16:44.

Fejes tallied his second of the game with a breakaway goal at 14:33 to close out the scoring.

Ouellette picked up the win with 37 saves on 38 shots against; Bonar received the loss with 20 stops on 24 shots against.

Fejes (5 goals, 2 assists) leads the team with a fivegame point streak and leads the team in points with seven.

Orlando returns home for a showdown with the Florida Everblades on Friday. The Solar Bears will wear specialty skeleton jerseys while fans can enjoy trick-or-treating on the Amway Center concourse, participate in a costume contest and more.
