Food-truck venue À La Cart opens near downtown Orlando

- By Lauren Delgado

The twinkle lights are strung, the food trucks rolled into place, and the beer taps filled — food truck park À La Cart is now open near downtown Orlando.

The picturesque space comes from April and Dustin Williams, two former teachers who were inspired by Oregon foodtruck parks and decided to bring the idea to Central Florida.

“We want to make a place where we would want to hang out in,” April said.

They strive to offer a variety of food with the daily lineup of five food trucks, April said.

Diners can find poke bowls and baos from PokeKai; Vietnamese and Korean classics from Pho Wheels; and Brazilian barbecue from Steak It Easy every day. SwedeDISH and Adao Gourmet trade spots during the week — with SwedeDISH available Wednesday through Friday and Adao taking the remaining days. A random food truck takes spot.

Craft brews, ciders, and wines are poured from an indoor bar with plenty of seating via long communal tables. Outside, smaller covered tables and chairs are set on the astro turf lawn. It’s a family-friendly space, with the seating areas pushed back from the road — and plenty of games scattered throughout the venue.

Want to go? Check out the food trucks 11:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11:30 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday through Saturday at 609 Irvington Ave. in Orlando. the remaining
