Alexis Pinturault of France won the gold medal in the Alpine combined at the world championships in Are, Sweden. Pinturault finished 0.24 seconds ahead of silvermedalist Stefan Hadalin of Slovenia and 0.46 ahead of bronze-medalist Marco Schwarz of Austria. It was the first individual world championship for the 27year-old Pinturault, who has four career World Cup combined season titles.
