New coach Brian Flores and the rebuilding Miami Dolphins may have at least one marquee game on their schedule for the 2019 season.

The Dolphins are likely to play on the road against the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day, according to a report by the SportsBusiness Journal on Monday.

While the NFL schedule will not be finalized until April, the report states that the NFL received pitches from TV executives on the games they want to broadcast next season.

Both sides also want games that are reminiscent of the league’s rich history this year which will be the NFL 100th season.

The Dolphins playing in Dallas against the Cowboys on Nov. 28, televised by CBS, could be one of them. The Chicago Bears at the Detroit Lions is also reported to be a Thanksgiving game on FOX.

One of the NFL’s most memorable games featured the Dolphins and Cowboys playing in the “Snow Bowl” in 1993.

Miami escaped with a 16-14 win in snowy Dallas after recovering their own blocked field goal at the 3-yard line, which was mistakenly touched by Cowboys defensive tackle Leon Lett, setting up Dolphins kicker Pete Stoyanovich’s game-winning, 19-yard kick.

The Dolphins will face each NFC East team next season, with road games expected against the Cowboys and New York Giants and home games against the Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles.

If the Dolphins visit the Cowboys on Thanksgiving, it will be their first game on the holiday since 2011 and eighth overall.

The Dolphins have played on Thanksgiving Day six other times in franchise history, with a 5-2 record overall in such games.

The Dolphins are 3-2 all-time against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day, and also have wins over the defunct St. Louis Cardinals in 1977 and the Detroit Lions in 2006.
