Lakeland police have identified the man who was killed late Friday in a double shooting at a vehicle repair store.
Detectives are also looking for a vehicle of interest in connection to the crime, according to Lakeland Police Department spokesman Gary Gross.
Police were called at about 11:35 p.m. Friday to investigate the shooting and found Steven Schelmety, 32, shot and killed inside of Artillery Motor Sports at 3609 Century Blvd. in Lakeland, Gross said in a press release.
Schelmety was pronounced dead at the scene and a second person was found shot and critically injured, Gross said.
The second victim remains listed in critical condition at Lakeland Regional Health and has not been identified to preserve their privacy as a murder witness, Gross said.
