Pedestrian dies after hit-and-run

Troopers are investigating after a pedestrian died following a hit-and-run crash on Saturday night in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A vehicle was traveling south on Gaymar Drive in northwest Orlando at about 9:30 p.m. when it struck Brian Henry, 55, who was walking in an “unknown direction,” according to an incident report. The driver fled the scene.

Henry later died at a hospital in Apopka, the report states.

The vehicle was de- scribed as a dark Chevy passenger vehicle and is believed to have front windshield and side mirror damage, the report states.

No other information was available.

The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending against the unknown driver.
