Pedestrian dies after hit-and-run

Troopers are investigat­ing after a pedestrian died following a hit-and-run crash on Saturday night in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A vehicle was traveling south on Gaymar Drive in northwest Orlando at about 9:30 p.m. when it struck Brian Henry, 55, who was walking in an “unknown direction,” according to an incident report. The driver fled the scene.

Henry later died at a hospital in Apopka, the report states.

The vehicle was de- scribed as a dark Chevy passenger vehicle and is believed to have front windshield and side mirror damage, the report states.

No other informatio­n was available.

The crash remains under investigat­ion and charges are pending against the unknown driver.
