She was looking for cigarettes, which in turn, caused a disturbance

A 53-year-old Brandon woman who was upset because she couldn’t find cigarettes at Hollywood Studios is facing criminal charges — and a lifetime ban from all Disney World properties — after she tried to slap a taxi driver and kicked a deputy sheriff, authorities said.

Ellen McMillion was arrested Sept. 5 and charged with thirddegree felony battery on a law enforcement officer and one misdemeanor count of disorderly intoxication, court records show. The public defender’s office, which is handling her case, could not be reached for comment.

Around 9 p.m., a deputy working at the theme park noticed a commotion at the front of the park, according to an Orange County arrest affidavit.

McMillion raised her arm above her head and tried to slap a taxi driver, the report said. The driver blocked her, but McMillion kept trying to hit him, it said.

The taxi driver, who doesn’t smoke, later told authorities that McMillion had tried to bum a cigarette off him and then became angry that he didn’t have any. Disney World banned smoking at the theme parks May 1.

A security employee who worried McMillion was a threat to other visitors at the park noticed that she struggled to stay on her feet, slurred her words and smelled like alcohol, the report said.

The deputy ushered McMillion over to a bench.

“She also verbally stated she was drunk multiple times. She demanded a cigarette multiple times and stated she was not going to speak to deputies until she got a cigarette,” the report said.

The deputy asked for McMillion’s ID, and she threw her purse on the ground. “Here,” she told him, according to the report.

“McMillion was still yelling profanities as multiple adults and children walked by,” the report said.

Disney security requested McMillion be trespassed from “all Walt Disney World properties,” the arrest affidavit also said.

“We have no tolerance for violence,” said Disney spokeswoman Erica Ettori in a statement, calling the incident a law enforcement matter.

Deputies arrested McMillion who tried to pull away when they reached the patrol car. She kicked another deputy in the leg “at least twice,” the report said.

McMillion, who not be reached for comment, was taken to the Orange County Jail.

But her Disney trip wasn’t over. She went back to Disney Springs, which is outside the theme parks, for dinner on Sept. 7, according to a post on her Facebook page.
