Wilson headlines All-ACC class

Six Florida State players earned ACC honors Tuesday.

Defensive tackle Marvin Wilson was a first team AllACC selection, while running back Cam Akers, wide receiver Tamorrion Terry and safety Hamsah Nasirildee­n earned second team honors.

Defensive back Asante Samuel Jr. was a third team selection and defensive back Stanford Samuels III earned honorable mention honors.

A voting panel of 46 media members and the league’s 14 head coaches cast ballots for the 2019 AllACC teams, with three points awarded for each first team vote, two points for each second team vote and one point for each third team selection.

Wilson was dominant for the Seminoles.

The junior played in nine games this season before having hand surgery. He finished the season with 44 tackles, 8.5 for loss, and a team-high five sacks. Wilson is expected to declare for the NFL draft.

ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. listed Wilson the No. 25 prospect on his big board.

Akers has been FSU’s best offensive player.

The junior running back has rushed for 1,144 yards and 14 touchdowns this season. Akers added 30 receptions for 225 yards and four touchdowns. His 18 touchdowns this season are for tied for fourth-most in a single season in program history.

Terry has had a breakout redshirt sophomore season. The wide receiver has 1,023 yards and eight touchdowns.

Nasirildee­n surpassed the 100-tackle mark against rival Florida Saturday. He was also hurt during the first half and was carted off the field with an air cast on his left leg. He registered 22 total tackles in a 38-31 win over Boston College.

Samuel and Samuels have had their moments at cornerback. Samuel is tied for the ACC lead in pass breakups and Samuels has two intercepti­ons.
