Fullback George leaves team

Orlando Sentinel - - SPORTS THURSDAY - By David Furones

Realus George was the nation’s topranked fullback when he joined the Miami Hurricanes’ 2018 recruiting class while Mark Richt was still coach at UM.

George never quite fit with the revamped offensive coaching staff Manny Diaz brought in when he took over for the retired Richt after last season. George has now left Miami to enter his name into the NCAA’s transfer portal, a UM spokesperson confirmed to the South Florida Sun Sentinel on Wednesday.

George’s decision was first reported by 247 Sports.

George appeared in all 12 of the Hurricanes’ regular-season games but was limited to special teams duties. He only saw action offensively in Miami’s opener, a loss to Florida.

George was passed up for rare fullback reps in offensive coordinator Dan Enos’ offense by walk-on Michael Parrott this season.
