Dem­ings hires sus­tain­abil­ity of­fi­cer for Or­ange County

Be­na­vides, a graduate of the Univer­sity of Cen­tral Florida’s Rosen Col­lege, is co-founder and prin­ci­pal part­ner of Or­lando-based L.E. Rigby In­no­va­tions.

The com­pany pro­vides sus­tain­abil­ity and cli­mate train­ing through­out the U.S. and the Caribbean, and has been ranked by

Newsweek mag­a­zine among the nation’s 100 “green­est com­pa­nies.”

He also co-founded ecoPre­serve, which im­ple­mented a wide range of en­ergy, or­ga­ni­za­tional and waste ef­fi­cien­cies at the Or­ange County Con­ven­tion Cen­ter, Or­lando In­ter­na­tional Air­port and Or­lando Health.

Mon­day is his first day work.

He will draw an an­nual salary of about $116,000, roughly $56 an hour.

Dem­ings de­scribed Be­na­vides as a sus­tain­abil­ity “pioneer” whose firm worked with Wyn­d­ham Ho­tels & Re­sorts and the city of Or­lando de­velop pro­grams that saved mil­lions in en­ergy and wa­ter costs. of
