Universal: Marshmello, Luis Fonsi coming to Mardi Gras
Universal Orlando has released its Mardi Gras concert list, which includes performances by TLC, Luis Fonsi and Marshmello. The New Orleans-inspired event begins Feb. 1 at Universal Studios theme park.
Universal’s Mardi Gras also includes a nightly parade, which will feature six new floats that fall into a Treasures of the Deep theme. Expect the sunken city of Atlantis and mystical creatures to be represented, Universal says. The parade and concerts are included in regular park admission.
Entertainers set for the park’s Music Plaza stage, subject to change, include:

■ Feb. 8: Karol G
■ Feb. 15: Bell Biv DeVoe
■ Feb. 16: Live
■ Feb. 22: Kool & the Gang
■ Feb. 29: TLC
■ March 7: REO Speedwagon
■ March 8: Dustin Lynch
■ March 13: Luis Fonsi
■ March 14: The All-American Rejects
■ March 15: Diana Ross
■ March 20: Chris Young
■ March 21: Earth, Wind & Fire
■ March 22: Marshmello
■ March 28: Why Don’t We
■ March 29: Gavin DeGraw
Show time is listed at 8:30 p.m. for the Mardi Gras concerts. The parade start times vary according to night, ranging from 6-7:45 p.m.
In addition, New Orleans bands will perform in the park’s French Quarter Courtyard. Scheduled are Dirty Bourbon River Show (Feb. 1-13), Free Agents Brass Band (Feb. 14-March 5), New Breed Brass Band (March 6-21) and Naughty Professor Brass Band (March 22-April 2).
The event also includes a new foodand-beverage option, the Carnival Around the Universe tasting tent and add-on experiences such as the Bayou Boil. Classic New Orleans dishes will be sold.
