Davis set for Lakers’ trip after ‘ugly fall’ vs. Knicks

Anthony Davis plans to travel with the Lakers on their upcoming road trip after he bruised his buttocks in a nasty fall.

The Lakers announced encouragin­g news about their six-time All-Star’s health Wednesday, a day after he left a blowout victory with a scary injury.

An MRI exam performed late last night showed no major concerns, and X-rays were negative. Davis was extremely sore, but his injuries appear to be only bruises.

The NBA’s sixth-leading scorer is expected to be listed as questionab­le when the Lakers open a two-game road trip Friday in Dallas.

Davis was hurt when he fell hard on his back and tailbone after trying to block a shot in the third quarter of the Lakers’ 117-87 win over the Knicks.

After the game, the Lakers’ Danny Green called it an “ugly fall, man.”

Embiid out with finger injury: Joel Embiid will miss the 76ers’ home game against the Celtics on Thursday because of the injury to his left ring finger.

The All-Star big man was scheduled to see a specialist.

Embiid suffered the injury during the first quarter of Monday’s 120-113 win over the visiting Thunder. He remained in the game after heading to the locker room twice in the quarter, playing the rest of the way with his hand taped.

He finished with 18 points, nine rebounds and a season-high eight assists.

Harden, Young post triple-doubles: James Harden scored 41 points, including 22 in the first quarter, to lead the Rockets over Trae Young and the host Hawks 122-115 on Wednesday.

Harden had 10 assists and 10 rebounds for his second straight triple-double. He had 44 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists for his first triple-double of the season in a 118-108 win over the 76ers on Friday.

Young had 42 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. He and Harden are the first players to post 40-point triple-doubles in the same game, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

Jokic lifts Nuggets: Nikola Jokic scored 26 of his 33 points in the second half, including the winning basket with 7.9 seconds left, and the Nuggets pulled out a 107-106 road win over the Mavericks.

Layups: DeMar DeRozan scored 30 points to lead the Spurs to a 129-114 victory over the host Celtics. The Spurs scored 22 of the first 25 points. Celtics G Kemba Walker returned after missing three games with the flu and was ejected with back-toback technicals when he argued a non-call in the third quarter . ... Warriors coach Steve Kerr was fined $25,000 for verbally abusing an official and failing to leave the court in a timely manner following an ejection in Monday’s loss to the Kings.
