Potter, Pandora were prime parts of theme-park decade

Orlando Sentinel - - CALENDAR -

COMMENTARY rumors of this surfaced, we discussed the idea of forcing a two-park ticket upon Express riders. We boiled it down to this, in the nicest possible way: “It’s evil. It’s genius. … It’s evil genius.” for assorted princesses. And while the finished product has a certain regal tone, it does blend with the fantasy theme. With the new attractions came Be Our Guest restaurant (translation: alcohol in the Magic Kingdom) and, eventually, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train coaster. After a lukewarm welcome to the Under the Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid ride, it feels like more people are embracing the attraction, especially the grotto. And I know by the time we get to the animatronics of Eric, Ariel and Sebastian that I, too, am pleading “sha la la la la la … go on and kiss the girl.”

What we lost when we gained more Fantasyland: Mickey’s Toontown Fair, Pooh’s Playful Spot, Snow White’s Scary Adventures and the slightest chance of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea resurfacing.
