Do you still have your lights up?

Whitley: Please feel free to keep the Christmas spirit, but not the decor.

According to famed crooner Andy Williams, Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year.

According to famed poet Geoffrey Chaucer, all good things must come to an end.

They’re both right, which brings us to this week’s Ask Orlando question. It comes from someone who is no longer full of good cheer.

The reason — outdoor Christmas diplays.

“Is there a law on how long they can stay up? I’m driving around and still seeing them on some houses. How long can they do that?”

Unlike some cities, Orlando does not require residents to take down Christmas displays by a reasonable date. Only two things compel a homeowner to do so — the calendar and common sense.

Not to go all bah humbug on you, but come on. We’re approaching a month since Dec. 25.

If you still have a live nativity scene in your front yard, it won’t be long before baby Jesus is walking and bugging Mary and Joseph to buy him an iPhone 11.
