Spectrum News nets 31 Florida broadcast journalism awards

The Florida Associatio­n of Broadcast Journalist­s recognized Spectrum News 13 in Orlando and Spectrum News Bay News 9 in Tampa Bay with a total of 31 best in broadcast journalism awards, according to a news release.

The honors include 14 first-place awards for News 13 and three for Bay News 9. In addition, Spectrum News 13 was named Overall Station of the Year.

The competitio­n represents the Sunshine State’s top television and radio broadcaste­rs and received more than 550 entries, which featured news and sports stories from 2019, according to the release.
