Minimum-wage hike would kill small businesses

Regarding the editorial calling for a raise to the minimum wage (“Want to thank grocery-store clerks? Raise minimum wage,” May 10):

It’s just plain stupid. Just give owners a reason to say, “I quit! It’s not worth keeping the business going.” They will take what they made and go. And I don’t blame them. I do support it, but not now.

Raising the minimum wage will plunge this country into an inflationary mess, with businesses closing everywhere. I would be happy just keeping my wage in the future coming up. It will be a scary future, people. Let’s keep wages stagnant and hope for the best.
